Our client, an internationally renowned company with leading brands in the small appliance industry, is searching for an enthusiastic National Account Manager that will be managing Canadian Tire, Costco, Home Hardware, Home Depot, Lowe’s/Rona and HBC accounts. Experience with other major mass, department, and grocery retailers is also an asset, and strong portal experience is a must have. Appliance and hardline good experience is an asset but not essential.

Key duties for the successful applicant include:

• Build and promote small kitchen appliances and various associated category sales with major retail accounts

• Promote existing and newly developed product lines by building on current markets

• Develop new channels of distribution

• Active role in merchandising, support overall strategy development, forecast support, tracking and monitoring promotional plan & spend

• Conduct routine sales calls with key accounts

• Set and plan promotions and advertising with key customers

• Manage sales budgets and business planning

• Administrative duties to manage key accounts

• Ensure pricing, advertising, and product assortments are running smoothly

• Drive various retail channels

• Provide recommendations to buyers for strategic product assortment

• Make retail location sales visits to stay abreast of market and competitions

• Stay on top of retail execution with customers, participation in line reviews, open large to medium accounts and devise strategies to grow sales

Requirements for this position include:

• 5+ years Account Management & Retail Sales experience

• University/College Degree preferred (B.A. or BComm)

• Detail oriented and has experience managing forecasts, sales budgets, business planning, and working with retail sales merchandisers

• Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Cognos, etc.

• Experience with Gateway & Data Vault (Canadian Tire – ASSET)

• 3+ years of experience working with Nielson, NPD, and/or forms of industry data

• Must be willing to travel to customer shows, events, retail stores, and to the head office

• Requires own vehicle

• Must be a highly detailed and organized self-starter

• Must possess strong analytical skills and be able to work with little supervision and minimal clerical support

• Must be able to work in a collaborative office environment and have strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to participate in trade associations and must be informed of industry specific trends
