Project Manager, Development Advisory

We are seeking a candidate with project management experience in Urban Planning, Architecture, Urban Design and/or other consultancy/advisory experience looking to be a Project Manager and join our client’s team. In this role you will be reporting to the VP directly. The ideal candidate is motivated to learn and grow, demonstrates deep interest in real estate development, and is passionate about city building. This position is a great opportunity for someone up and coming in their career who wants to be involved in solving problems on some of the largest development projects in North America. The individual must possess strong project management, communication, writing, and analytical skills, along with being a self-starter and having a can-do attitude.

The Development Manager will be responsible for project management of various development files that include project strategy and, demographic insights and market analysis, to produce reports and presentations of recommended actions & outcomes. It is expected that this individual will be actively involved in the industry and provide effective and timely communication on projects.

Base salary for this position is flexible depending on level of industry experience and exposure, plus a discretionary bonus. Responsibilities

Lead and manage project management responsibilities for high-profile mixed-use real estate development projects in the Greater Toronto Area and the United States.
Act as lead project manager on large-scale masterplan development project files, including day-to-day team management, meeting management, and deliverable management, and client management.
Manage projects through various stages of the development process, depending on the project, with exposure conceptualization and development stages.
Oversee research and analysis of land, housing, and commercial real estate markets across multiple key markets.
Research market and demographic information to analyze and synthesize materials for project work, and create engaging presentations to showcase findings to clients and stakeholders.
Review reports and summary documents for the executive team and external partners that result from economic and policy research for reporting/submission documents.
Review inputs and assumptions of analysis of market research, third-party reports, and municipal policy and guidelines.
Manage clients, attend industry functions, and engage in front-facing client, business, and community interactions regularly.
Attend industry conferences, webinars, and socials to maintain finger on the pulse of the industry.
Confidently present opinions and ideas in writing and through presentation.
Listen to client needs, contribute to conversations, and guide discussions effectively.
Supervise and manage team members as the organization grows.

Qualifications

3-5 years of relevant work experience within the real estate development industry in a consulting and/or advisory role.
Post-secondary education with a focus on Urban Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, or Landscape Architecture is ideal, as well as a Degree in Real Estate or Commerce. Professional designations are considered an asset.
Passion for the real estate development industry and a genuine commitment to success.
Superior analytical and research skills combined with strong communication and presentation skills to present conclusions and recommendations.
Ability to deliver on commitments and manage multiple deliverables within tight timelines.
Collaborative attitude with the capacity and willingness to manage multiple tasks by being flexible/adaptable and responding to changing circumstances.
Ability to problem solve effectively and adept at presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
Excels in a dynamic and fast paced environment and enjoys new challenges.
Highly collaborative and self-starter, with ability to work independently.
