About the job

We are seeking a skilled Senior Automation Test Developer to join our team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automation testing, quality assurance, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of various systems and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for automation within software processes.
  • Design and execute QA tests using scripts that automatically test functionality.
  • Develop and execute test automation scripts using frameworks and tools.
  • Investigate issues discovered through testing and collaborate with developers for resolution.
  • Provide advice on testing strategies, plans, tools, and resources.
  • Plan and organize testing efforts for both GUI and non-GUI systems.
  • Execute specialized tests, including stress and performance tests.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
  • Conduct AODA compliance audits using tools like AXE and WAVE.

General Skills:

  • Proven ability to design and execute automated tests.
  • Strong experience in functional, integration, and performance testing.
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Microfocus ALM).
  • Skilled in gathering and documenting requirements for automation solutions.
  • Team-oriented with excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Katalon, Selenium, Microfocus UFT, Load Runner, ReadyAPI, and Postman.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and database systems, including Java, SQL, Oracle, IMS/DB2, and UNIX.
  • Experience with mainframe tools like TSO/SPF.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (AODA) and testing practices.
  • Experience with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and API testing.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of licensing and control systems and payment gateways.
  • Experience with Siebel, ESDI, and other ministry applications.
  • Understanding of Information Management principles.
  • Ability to code automated test scripts for complex systems.
