Cast & Crew is looking for a Director, User Experience to help transform entertainment industry software by designing easy-to-use features that solve real user problems and enable a positive user experience. Responsibilities include building elegant solutions within our product suite by gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements, and building navigation components that enable a congruent and consistent user experience across our digital products.

To be successful in this role, you should have with user-centered design principles, a variety of design software and wireframe tools, strong management skills, and have a passion for user experience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence business-wide discussions relative to the current and future direction of design and user experience
  • Proactively pitch prioritization suggestions for bad user experiences and workflow gaps
  • Lead the design planning phase of the product lifecycle and partner on strategic product priorities in ideation and discovery.
  • Provide expert-level UX strategy in consolidating product lines and partner with other creative teams within Cast & Crew to influence and adapt the products to a new unified brand strategy.
  • Create user flows and key personas alongside Product Managers in four key industry verticals.
  • Recruit for and conduct user research sessions to create the best possible user experience for our customers prior to development.
  • Create and communicate UX user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, and design plans that account for strict development timelines.
  • Consistently and proactively build long-term and highly productive working relationships across multiple functions within Cast & Crew to create a unified customer experience.
  • Oversee development of future staff, including training, assessing, and managing junior designers.
  • Other related tasks and duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or related field; or relevant certification or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience defining, developing, and documenting UX design requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to lead and innovate across teams and organizations.
  • Proficient in multiple methods of user research with the ability to recruit customers and non-customers.
  • Experience mentoring other product and user experience professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead projects from concept to delivery and ongoing improvement.
  • Experience partnering with product and development teams in Agile frameworks.
  • Portfolio demonstrating user experience activities, processes, and deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of discoverability, adoption and usage analytics, and attribution models with the ability to partner with development and product teams in success measure ideation.
  • Advanced skill with design tools, such as Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS, Figma, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product or service design experience
  • Experience with mobile app design, payroll, or employee-facing technology a plus
