Candidate Location Requirements: Hybrid; LAS COLINAS-1, CHARLOTTE-AP2, Fargo, Seattle and required to work onsite: 2 days a week onsite

Contract: Can extend to 18 months

They are looking for candidates with working experience in the databases mentioned. The previous candidates have mentioned having the experience on their resume but when they were interviewed, the team learned that they were only exposed to it or wrote code and interacted as end users but didn’t work in it.

They are looking for people who administer Open-Source Databases like MySQL, Postgre SQL, etc. They need someone who has experience taking care of the application (creating tables, writing queries, etc.) not someone who only has experience with Azure data accuracy as it is not the same.

Regarding the hard skill, Minimum 3+ years experience with Any Open Source DB (MYSQL or PostgreSQL) or SQL Server or SQL Azure DB. Please note that they are open to those who have skillset in SQL Server or SQL Azure DB so it was included in this hard skill, but they highly prefer someone with the open-source DB experience. If they only have SQL Server/SQL Azure DB experience they will require some additional training which they are open to but it is more important to the team for them to have experience with MYSQL or PostgreSQL as the other will take more time to train and ramp up.

• Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week. They occasionally may have to work weekends but if so, they’d still only work 5 days a week.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience troubleshooting Open-Source Databases like MySQL, Postgre SQL, etc.

 

• Purpose of the Team: This team is the Azure database support for MSFT.

• Key projects: no specific key projects to mention outside of the JD.

• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 20% meetings, 80% case management.

1. Minimum 3+ years experience with Any Open Source DB (MYSQL or PostgreSQL) or SQL Server or SQL Azure DB

2. Minimum 5+ years experience with Technical Support

3. Minimum 5+ years experience with Azure Fundamentals and Azure PAAS (Desirable)

• Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain experience with incident management and customer handling skills. This role is best fit for someone who takes a problem-solving approach and has a learning mindset. self-motivated/passionate about learning

• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadlines.

It is really important to the team that they have excellent verbal and written communication skills!

 

 

Role and Responsibilities:

 

§ Minimum 3+ of experience is required in Technical Support Roles

§ Administration support for SQL databases and/or Azure Cloud-based

§ Experience troubleshooting Open-Source Databases like MySQL, Postgre SQL, etc.,

§ Must have knowledge of basics of Azure and SQL,

§ Hand on experience in production support with Database experience

§ Experience supporting or maintaining complex mission critical database solutions, RDMS technologies, and/or SQL language.

§ Excellent understanding of Database concepts and deployments

§ Participate in case triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and develop efficient customer solutions. Consistently share best practices with team members and help create a knowledge base article to solve/workaround that issue

§ Manage all customer communication with the appropriate level of etiquette, timeliness, and professionalism, whilst working towards achieving the KPI targets.

§ Experience working in a team environment, managing a diverse workload

§ Ability to work independently, be adaptable to change and varied working hours

§ Ability to take quick decisions, like when to escalate a ticket to next level

§ Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyze problems, determine root cause and develop solutions.

§ Excellent Communication Skills – verbal, listening, and written (including technical writing).

§ Passion for technology, lifelong learning and professional development.

§ Experience in one or more of these areas desirable:

§ Experience supporting Azure or other cloud-based solutions.
