Deputy Ward Manager (Band 6) – Integrated Procedures Unit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, organised, and experienced nurse to join our core nursing team as a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager within the Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU).

This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) is worked over four days, providing an excellent work-life balance. The IPU operates Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 19:30, offering an exciting opportunity to develop leadership skills in a nurse-led, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Lead a dynamic nurse-led service, managing patients undergoing a wide range of surgical, endoscopic, and radiological procedures.
✔ Deliver high standards of patient care, ensuring evidence-based practice.
✔ Oversee patient assessment, planning, and evaluation of care.
✔ Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
✔ Foster effective communication across all clinical grades within the IPU team.
✔ Support clinical audits and contribute to practice development strategies.
✔ Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
✔ Promote professional development, providing training and mentorship for colleagues and learners.
