About Poudre School District
Poudre School District (PSD) is the 8th largest school district in Colorado, encompassing 55 schools and serving approximately 30,000 students with the support of 5,000 dedicated staff members. Guided by a shared mission—to educate every child, every day—our goal is to inspire students to think, learn, care, and graduate ready to succeed in an ever-changing world.
Our district spans 1,856 square miles across northern Colorado, including Fort Collins, Laporte, Timnath, Wellington, Red Feather, Livermore, Stove Prairie, and portions of Loveland and Windsor. Nestled against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins sits at 5,000 feet above sea level, offering a moderate climate with 300 days of sunshine and an annual average of 14.5 inches of precipitation. The city has been recognized as the #1 best place to live in the U.S. (Livability) and the #1 place in Colorado to raise a family (Business Week).
PSD is proud to be a top-performing district, earning state and national recognition for excellence in student achievement, staff performance, and overall district success. Our students receive prestigious honors, including Boettcher, Daniels Fund, National Merit, National Hispanic, and Presidential Scholarships. They excel in academics, arts, and athletics, earning state championships in science, history, ocean knowledge bowls, speech, debate, theatre, and music, as well as in sports such as cross country, track and field, tennis, wrestling, swimming, baseball, and gymnastics. Many of our schools have received state recognition for student growth, achievement, and overall performance.
