The Director of Accounting will be an integral member of SoundHound’s accounting/finance team, will report to the SVP, Controller, and will own the global general ledger.

In this role, you will:

  • Own all aspects of domestic and international GL operations/GAAP compliance
  • In a hands-on and proactive manner, collaborate with A/P, A/R, Treasury, Financial Reporting/Technical Accounting, and FP&A to improve efficiencies and lead timely period-closes
  • Lead, mentor, review, and fill gaps of operational accounting workstreams (workpapers, journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis) completed by accounting team
  • Manage operational accounting activities of international external service providers. Transition external activities in-house when appropriate
  • Manage intercompany entries and consolidation of financial data necessary for accurate business subsidiary/consolidated results
  • Build maturity across key accounting areas, including cost of sales, sales commissions, executive compensation, payroll, etc.
  • Support implementation, maintenance, and adherence of SOX 404b internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes and systems as needed to support scalability
  • Ad-hoc as assigned

  • You hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • You earned a degree in accounting
  • You are obsessively detail-oriented and leave nothing to chance
  • You independently research and apply accounting/reporting principles and maintain solid knowledge of US GAAP
  • You have strong team leadership and project management skills, along with the ability to independently and simultaneously manage overlapping projects
  • You have 15 years (or 12 years with Master’s degree) relevant experience
  • You have strong analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills

We’d be especially excited if you were a Big-4 Audit Manager and/or Sr. Manager and have hands on experience with NetSuite, Workday (Accounting Module), UKG, and Shareworks.
