Principal Responsibilities

Electrical Installation & Design: Assist in designing electrical projects and installing electrical equipment.

Team Coordination: Work closely with operators, supervisors, and engineers to plan equipment layouts and resolve system operation issues.

Equipment Evaluation: Assess the feasibility of using standardized equipment and develop specifications for additional functions.

Voltage & Wiring Work: Handle voltage levels up to 480V and 4160V, wire Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and follow electrical codes.

Technical Review: Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications to determine installation and troubleshooting procedures.

Instrumentation Setup: Perform calculations, set up parameters, and establish system limits.

Equipment Modification: Modify industrial electronics, circuits, and devices to meet performance specifications.

Testing & Calibration: Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure optimal function.

Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs to prevent unexpected failures.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to the National Electric Code (NEC) and Cargill safety standards.

Emergency Repairs: Address electrical failures quickly to minimize downtime and operational impact.

Documentation & Inventory Management: Maintain logs of system performance, repairs, and calibrations; manage spare parts inventory.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Detect and analyze equipment malfunctions using test equipment, software, and troubleshooting techniques.

Work Flexibility: Be available for overtime, extended shifts, night shifts, weekends, and holiday work as required.

Project Oversight: Assist in managing contracted electrical projects to ensure compliance with Cargill’s quality standards.

Team Collaboration: Support plant personnel as needed and actively participate in safety meetings and training programs.
Required Qualifications

Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

18 years or older.
-
Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, ladder climbing, and working in confined spaces.

Capable of lifting at least 50 pounds.

Ability to work in extreme temperatures and elevated areas.

Experience operating machinery.
-
English proficiency (reading and writing).

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic computer skills (data entry and retrieval).

Willingness to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends, or different shifts as needed.

Electrical maintenance experience, including working with blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

Ability to operate mobile equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Competency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).

Ability to work in indoor and outdoor plant environments under inclement conditions.

Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.

Experience installing conduit and pulling wire.

Commitment to safety protocols and proper PPE usage.

Reliable transportation.

Familiarity with tools such as multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and insulation testers.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Ability to use electrical test equipment for diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).

Mechanical aptitude to interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, and technical drawings.

State of Nebraska Apprentice or Journeyman license (or equivalent).
-
2-year degree in electromechanical systems, electrical engineering, or a related field.
