Salesforce Developer – Join a World-Class Healthcare System

Be part of a leading academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Salesforce Developer. This position is primarily remote, with occasional on-site requirements. Candidates must be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

About the Role

As a Salesforce Developer, you will contribute to complex projects within an Academic Medical Center environment, executing key deliverables to support enterprise-wide digital transformation. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders to design, develop, and implement Salesforce solutions that enhance patient access to top-tier healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical design and architecture, aligning solutions with business objectives

  • Develop and customize Salesforce applications using both configuration and coding

  • Utilize Salesforce’s out-of-the-box functionality and determine when customization is needed

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data and functionality

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment)

  • Utilize Salesforce APIs to integrate external systems and data

  • Manage and maintain the Salesforce environment, including user permissions, security settings, and workflows

  • Assist with UAT, troubleshooting, and issue resolution

  • Document technical and functional specifications

  • Track, manage, and respond to application issues and support tickets

  • Work with IT leadership to manage vendor relationships and service agreements

  • Escalate technical issues when necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5-10 years of software development experience

  • Strong experience with Salesforce configurations and deployments

  • 5+ years working with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server)

  • 5+ years of experience with HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript

  • 2+ years working with SOAP APIs, REST APIs, and integration techniques

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Lightning, APEX, LWC, APIs, and SOQL

  • Knowledge of security standards (TLS, SSL, SSO, data encryption)

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce customization and configuration (Apex Triggers, Visual Force, Workflows, Approval Processes, Custom Objects, Reports, Dashboards, etc.)

  • Experience with Microsoft tools, Salesforce APIs, and third-party API integrations

  • Proficiency with MS SQL databases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I or II, Administrator)

  • Experience with Health Cloud implementation & development
