Established in 2003, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is an independent agency responsible for managing San Diego International Airport and planning for the region’s long-term air transportation needs.

Serve as the region’s Airport Land Use Commission, ensuring land use plans prioritize public health and safety for all 16 county airports
The Airport Authority is governed by a nine-member board representing San Diego County, with an Executive Committee overseeing operations.
About the Role: Accountant
We are looking for a detail-driven Accountant to support financial operations and drive process improvements. This role ensures compliance with procurement policies, manages vendor payments, and enhances financial efficiency in a dynamic public agency.
Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger & Reconciliations – Analyze, reconcile accounts, and prepare journal entries.

Financial Reporting & Compliance – Assist with financial statements, audits, and month-end closings.

Fixed Asset Accounting – Maintain asset records and perform annual inventory.

Accounts Payable Oversight – Ensure payments comply with policies and resolve vendor inquiries.

Training & Support – Assist employees with financial processes and best practices.
What We’re Looking For:

3+ years of accounting experience (public sector experience a plus).

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technology skills.

Ability to streamline processes and improve financial controls.

Certifications (e.g., CAPA, CAPP, CPFO, or advanced Excel skills) are a plus.
