About the Job
Rakuten is seeking an Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant to support a complex billing and revenue process in our Schaumburg, IL office. Reporting to the Director of AR, this role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, resolving customer account issues, and ensuring timely revenue recognition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and reconcile complex billing and monthly COGS

  • Monitor and analyze customer accounts for delays or irregularities

  • Assist with month-end close and reporting

  • Perform account and general ledger reconciliations

  • Engage with customers to resolve outstanding issues

  • Recommend process improvements for efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Minimum 4 years in AR, billing, or staff accounting

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and AR processes

  • Excellent Excel skills and communication abilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP a plus

  • Internet/affiliate industry experience is a bonus
