About the Role
This role is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of loans and program-related securities, including principal, interest, fees, and advances. You will prepare journal entries, maintain subledgers, perform GL reconciliations, and support financial reporting for quarterly SEC filings (Forms 10-Q/10-K).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting for loans, guaranteed securities, investments, debt, derivatives, and other financial products

  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end journal entries, subledgers, GL reconciliations, and roll-forward analyses

  • Support quarterly financial disclosures and SEC reporting

  • Conduct system testing to ensure accurate accounting integration

  • Manage prepaid, fixed assets, accounts payable, cash, and other asset/liability accounts

  • Assist with ad hoc and recurring tasks as needed

Who You’ll Work With
Reports to the Accounting Manager and collaborates closely with the internal Accounting team and various stakeholders.

Work Environment
Flexible hybrid setup with in-office collaboration as needed. Based in D.C. headquarters or remote for highly qualified candidates. Occasional extended hours may be required for key projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • CPA required

  • 5+ years of experience in public/private accounting, internal audit, or internal controls

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and documentation skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
