Accountant (Cost Accounting)

Accountant – Essential Job Functions:

• Manage daily accounting activities for supporting departments at the Freeport manufacturing site (maintenance, logistics, EH&S, etc.).

• Assist with the M&E closing process, journal entry preparation, and monthly reporting.

• Support journal entry verification, budgeting, physical inventory observation, MRO inventory recording, and fixed asset reviews.

• Provide financial analysis to department managers for decision-making.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business productivity and value.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s preferred). CMA or CPA certifications a plus.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience; manufacturing accounting experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Accounting Theory, GAAP, SOX policies, general ledger systems, and auditing practices.

• Preferred experience with large manufacturing or government contractor environments.

• Skills in learning agility, leadership, problem-solving, and relationship management.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP or similar enterprise system experience preferred.

• Previous experience with Olin is a plus.
