Job Summary:
St. David’s HealthCare is seeking a robotic-trained general surgeon, either a new graduate or an experienced practitioner, to join a well-established private practice group in Austin, TX.

Qualified Candidates:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible general surgeon to join a group of five surgeons.

  • The practice specializes in general surgery, bariatric surgery, orthopedics, and hand/upper extremity surgery.

  • Open to new graduates or recently practicing surgeons.

  • Robotic surgery certification is highly recommended.

  • Acute care and elective procedures.

  • Excellent support from Intuitive Surgical and current partners to mentor and assist with building the robotics learning curve.

  • Partners are Intuitive Surgical proctors with over 4,000 combined robotic procedures performed.

  • Focus on bread and butter general surgery and advanced procedures (bowel, colon, foregut).

  • Advanced hernia repair techniques, including eTEP and TAR.

  • Call schedule: 1:4 weekend call.

  • No breast surgery.

  • Coverage across five facilities.

  • Teaching opportunities for general surgery residents, medical students, and PA students, with partners serving as clinical teaching faculty at South Austin Medical Center.
