Key Responsibilities

  • Lead culinary operations with a focus on quality, presentation, and adherence to Aramark’s food service standards.

  • Manage and mentor culinary staff, including chef managers and hourly employees, ensuring strong performance and professional development.

  • Deliver on food production goals while maintaining high standards of food safety and kitchen cleanliness.

  • Train staff in best practices for food preparation and production techniques.

  • Promote a positive and collaborative team culture through coaching, recognition, and regular team meetings or huddles.

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including training, performance, and operational checklists.

  • Build strong relationships with clients and guests to enhance satisfaction and ensure successful partnerships.

  • Stay informed on regional culinary trends and ingredients, sharing insights to drive menu innovation.

  • Meet financial targets related to food and labor costs, and identify opportunities for margin improvement through data and inventory analysis.

  • Uphold Aramark’s standard menu and food offerings, ensuring consistency, safety, and quality.

  • Oversee operational excellence fundamentals, including waste reduction, recipe compliance, and labor optimization.

  • Ensure procurement and supply chain processes are followed, using only approved vendors.

  • Accurately estimate food usage and place appropriate orders to maintain inventory levels.

  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment for proper functioning and safety.

  • Enforce compliance with Aramark’s SAFE food program, quality assurance, occupational safety, and environmental policies.

  • Adhere to all relevant company policies, health and safety regulations, and labor laws.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of culinary experience required

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role preferred

  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Strong multi-tasking abilities and team leadership skills

  • Proven ability to distill complex tasks into clear, actionable goals

  • Advanced knowledge of culinary principles and food service operations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
