About the Job

Our client, a family-owned property company dedicated to community development and sustainability, is seeking a Corporate Accountant. This role reports to the Controller and involves managing corporate allocations, journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and accounts receivable, as well as overseeing daily and monthly cash disbursements and receipts.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in budget preparation and collaborate with management for assumptions and system input.

  • Report quarterly on budget vs. actual results.

  • Manage monthly intercompany allocations, including coordination with Treasury, and record accrual journal entries across 300 legal entities.

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly close with journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Prepare GAAP and tax trial balances, including depreciation and equity adjustments.

  • Analyze variances in service entities’ budgets vs. actuals and identify key drivers.

  • Generate payment schedules and P&L analysis for senior management.

  • Handle confidential payroll data and sensitive family-owned asset information.

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis for the VP of Accounting and Corporate Controller.

  • Review and approve purchase requisitions and invoices within Ivalua workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

  • QuickBooks Desktop experience required; Yardi experience a plus.

  • 3-5 years of related experience, with public accounting experience preferred.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
