Job description

St Mary’s Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and organized Administration Lead to oversee and support the whole-school administrative functions. The Administration Lead will manage the administration team under the guidance of the Deputy Headteacher (Quality of Education) and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong leadership, communication, and IT skills to make a meaningful impact in a respected educational environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Administration Lead

As an Administration Lead, your role will include:

  • Leading and line-managing the school’s administration team

  • Coordinating a full-school administrative support service

  • Assisting with operational and strategic administrative planning

  • Supporting senior leadership in delivering school-wide objectives

What We’re Looking for in an Administration Lead

To succeed in the Administration Lead role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IT software

  • Prior experience in staff line management (preferable)

  • A school administration background is desirable
