Position Overview
As an Office Assistant 2, you will provide vital administrative and clerical support, handling more complex and independent tasks that are essential to daily operations. Responsibilities include:

Collecting and preparing data for reports

Drafting letters and correspondence

Performing data entry and maintaining records

Reviewing forms and applications for completeness and accuracy

Coordinating schedules and meetings
-
Organizing and maintaining both paper and digital files
Minimum Qualifications
You may qualify for this position through one of the following paths:

HELPS Program (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide):
Open to external candidates with at least one year of clerical experience. -
Current NYS Employees – Competitive Appointment:
Candidates who are on the Office Assistant 2 eligible list and are reachable for appointment. -
Transfer Eligibility:
NYS employees with at least one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. -
Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP):
Current OMH employees with one year of permanent service as an Office Assistant 1 (including all language parenthetics) may be eligible for promotion under Section 52.7 of Civil Service Law if NCP requirements are met.
