 What Makes a Great Social Care Consultant?

To excel as a Social Care Consultant, you’ll need:

  • Leadership experience in residential childcare or regulation

  • Strong understanding of Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards

  • Excellent report writing and relationship-building skills

  • A can-do attitude and genuine passion for improving care environments

  • The ability to travel for site visits as needed

 Your Role as a Social Care Consultant

As a Social Care Consultant, your day-to-day will involve:

  • Supporting children’s homes in achieving Ofsted registration and compliance

  • Conducting audits, mock inspections, and Regulation 44-style visits

  • Supervising and mentoring Registered Managers

  • Developing action plans, policies, and compliance frameworks

  • Collaborating with care teams and external agencies

  • Reflecting on lessons learned to continuously improve service quality
