Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in patient care activities including vital signs assessment, patient transfers, and ambulation under supervision of LPN, RN, PA, ARNP, or MD.

  • Collaborate and communicate with RNs and other healthcare staff as appropriate.

  • Provide clinical and technical care in accordance with established protocols, using safe, effective techniques tailored to patient needs.

  • Accurately chart vital signs, intake/output, and report changes in patient condition to the appropriate medical personnel.

  • Order and maintain adequate clinic supplies; ensure emergency room supplies are stocked.

  • Administer medications as directed and in accordance with established procedures.


Qualifications

  • Current CNA certification in the state of Colorado, obtained through an accredited Nurse Aide program.

  • At least one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.

  • Current CPR/BLS certification.

  • Recent TB test (within the past year).

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if applicable).

  • Must obtain and maintain facility-specific security clearance.

  • Proficient in computer use and willing to learn facility-specific systems.

  • Able to use standard medical equipment safely and effectively.

  • Respects patient dignity and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.


Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and positioning oneself in various environments.

  • Must be able to clearly exchange information and remain composed in high-pressure situations.

  • Visual acuity to detect and assess situations and patient conditions.

  • Must be capable of lifting and transporting up to 50 pounds frequently.


Work Environment

This role is based inside a correctional facility and may involve exposure to certain risks, including bloodborne pathogens. All work must be performed in strict adherence to facility security protocols to ensure the safety of all staff and patients.
