About the Role:
WayUp is partnering with Maximus to find a proactive Security Analyst to support a federal financial client. You’ll monitor vulnerability scans, manage remediation, and engage with IT and Security teams on issues like injection threats, access control, data handling, and outdated software. Your responsibilities include evaluating scan results (identifying false positives), investigating vulnerabilities, developing remediation plans, and updating security documentation. Collaboration across teams to meet security policies is key.
Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen and able to pass a Public Trust clearance.
- 3+ years of IT experience (ideally in Security).
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Experience reviewing findings from security scanning tools like Tenable, BurpSuite, Veracode, etc.
- One or more security certifications (Security+, A+, Network+, CEH).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate vulnerability fixes and build trusted client relationships.
- Experience presenting to IT Security stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Proficiency in technical documentation, especially on IT Security topics.
Bonus Skills:
- Advanced Excel knowledge.
- Experience with business intelligence tools for security data normalization.
- Experience in scaled Agile environments using Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust policy and continuous ATO.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience supporting new business development.
