About the Job

As a Limited Radiologic Technologist, you will play a crucial role in performing diagnostic x-rays in an ambulatory setting, ensuring patient and staff safety while adhering to established radiologic and regulatory standards. You’ll also provide valuable support to clinic operations, both clinical and clerical, as needed based on your training and competency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform timely, high-quality radiographic imaging, within your scope of training and licensure, to assist in diagnosis and treatment by the attending provider.

  • Operate specialized equipment such as Digital Radiography (DR) and the Patient Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

  • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and complies with regulations. Report any equipment concerns or malfunctions to the practice manager and submit work orders as necessary.

  • Conduct quality control checks and audits on radiologic equipment.

  • Keep accurate records and logs of activities, including sending x-rays to other facilities.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area.

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, verifying identity, explaining the procedure, and addressing patient questions.

  • Position patients and adjust equipment to capture accurate images as ordered by the provider.

  • Monitor patients for any discomfort or distress during exams and take appropriate action when necessary.

  • Use the electronic medical record (EMR) system for managing patient orders and entering required data.

  • Respond to providers’ inquiries regarding radiographic exams.

What We Require

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Radiological Sciences – Limited program.

  • Experience: No prior experience required.

  • Licensure/Certification:

    • Limited Medical Radiology Technician license in Virginia.

    • Ability to obtain American Heart Association BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Skills & Qualifications:

    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

    • Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record systems, preferably Epic.
