Job Description: City Sanctuary Facility Residential Aide

The City Sanctuary Facility Residential Aide plays a vital role in providing ongoing support to all onsite services. This position assists with guests’ basic needs and collaborates closely with the case management team to monitor and deliver appropriate services to families in need.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Estimated Starting Salary Range for City Sanctuary Facility Residential Aide: $17.50 – $19.23 per hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document and track all families, staff, and visitors entering and exiting the facility; complete census forms, report incidents, and log all events.

• Facilitate new admissions and move-outs for residents.

• Generate and submit nightly rosters, and maintain all documentation related to shift coverage.

• Provide a professional greeting to all visitors and callers.

• Ensure the lobby and front areas are clear and free of obstructions at all times.

• Collaborate with security to prevent loitering in and around the building.

• Assist with fire drills and emergency evacuations.

• Support custodial and security staff in maintaining facility safety and cleanliness.

• Distribute mail to residents and families.

• Conduct room checks and hourly rounds to ensure resident safety and comfort.

• Assist with food distribution, including receiving and organizing food deliveries.

• Implement programmatic needs as outlined by the Site and Social Services Directors.

• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, and Skills Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience.

• 1-2 years of progressively responsible experience in housing or shelter services, with direct client services experience.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.

• Strong background in customer service and problem-solving.

• Excellent organizational, verbal, and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with families and prioritize tasks efficiently.

• Sensitivity to the cultural and socio-economic characteristics of the service population.

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

• Previous job experience in similar roles such as City Refuge Residential Assistant, Civic Sanctuary Housing Support Staff, or Metropolitan Safehouse Residence Attendant is highly valued.

• Must pass pre-employment qualifications as set by Cherokee Federal.
