About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team and deliver high-quality rehabilitation services. In this role, you’ll be responsible for organizing and providing occupational therapy to support recovery and functional improvement for patients following injury, illness, or surgery. You’ll guide patients through customized treatment plans aimed at restoring, reinforcing, and enhancing functional independence in daily life. Patient care may span neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop personalized therapy plans

Treatment Planning: Design therapeutic programs involving sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and the rehab team to ensure cohesive care

Therapeutic Delivery: Implement and adjust therapy interventions based on patient response and progress

Education: Instruct patients and families on therapy techniques and adaptive strategies
-
Documentation & Billing: Maintain accurate records of care and ensure proper billing
-
Supervision: Guide therapy students, volunteers, and support staff as appropriate

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, report concerns, and promote a safe patient environment

Equipment Oversight: Maintain therapy tools and assistive devices, ensuring cleanliness and proper function

Professional Development: Actively pursue continuing education and stay current with best practices
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy or a related field

Licensure:
-
Current New Mexico Occupational Therapy License or Temporary License

BLS Certification (within 30 days of hire)

Experience:

At least 1 year of directly related clinical experience preferred

Bilingual skills in English, Spanish, or Native languages such as Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo are a plus

Physical Requirements: Heavy work—must be able to lift and move 50–100 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds constantly
