Position Overview

As a Therapist I at Valley Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a variety of settings. You’ll be a key member of our interdisciplinary team, responding to physician referrals and developing individualized treatment plans that promote safety, function, and independence for our patients.

You’ll apply evidence-based interventions while supporting the patient’s journey through the continuum of care, from acute services to outpatient rehabilitation. Whether working in acute care, inpatient rehab, or specialized outpatient programs, you’ll actively contribute to the patient’s recovery and overall well-being.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations and implement therapy interventions based on physician orders

  • Collaborate with other disciplines and offer feedback to help guide patient progress

  • Document treatment and progress in accordance with legal, billing, and licensing requirements

  • Stay up to date on best practices, educational opportunities, and departmental goals

  • Maintain clear, timely communication through professional channels, including email

Clinical Areas May Include:

  • Acute Care: Orthopedics, Medical/Surgical, Neurology, Cardiac, Trauma, ICU, NICU (OT), CST

  • Inpatient Rehab: Orthopedics, Neurology, Trauma

  • Outpatient: Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Women’s Health, Vestibular, Lymphedema, Aquatics, Vision, Drivability, Wound Care

Education & Licensure

  • Postgraduate Certificate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required

  • Occupational Therapy License in Virginia or West Virginia (or transitional license) required at time of hire

  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required prior to completing orientation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer and typing skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages and needs

  • Commitment to learning and achieving proficiency in therapy interventions

FLSA Status: Exempt

Physical Demands: Therapist-level duties (frequent movement, patient handling, etc.)
