Opportunity: Senior Accountant – Manufacturing (Ladson, SC)
A manufacturer in Ladson, SC is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to take ownership of diverse financial accounting responsibilities and drive continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial data across various areas and have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with all accounting department processes.
Your Impact:
- Manage financial reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
- Perform and enhance month-end close procedures (accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, etc.).
- Review monthly financial results and prepare reporting packages for the parent company.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger and perform monthly reconciliations.
- Review and submit multi-state monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns.
- Monitor daily bank account activity, review positive pay, and manage ACH authorizations.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable: monitor aging, direct follow-up on past due accounts, email statements, resolve customer complaints, and manage collections.
- Oversee Accounts Payable: review and process invoices, work with vendors on past due balances, review vendor statements, and process weekly payments.
- Assist the CFO in annual budget preparation and internal/external audit processes.
- Support the HR Department by processing bi-weekly payroll and related journal entries.
- Lead and develop the accounting and finance team, managing workload and performance.
- Assist the CFO with continuous improvement and the development of new finance systems.
- Maintain relationships with external accounting firms, state agencies, and the bank.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of related accounting experience.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior manufacturing and ERP experience (a plus).
