Key Responsibilities
Patient Care

Provide hands-on care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, tailored to meet each patient’s condition, developmental stage, and personal needs.

Participate actively in implementing and adapting the individualized plan of care.

Support and encourage patients’ independence and self-care abilities, where appropriate.

Recognize cognitive and behavioral changes and respond with appropriate care strategies.

Maintain a safe and clean environment, practicing proper infection control and use of equipment, including restraints when necessary.

Observe and report abnormal signs and symptoms promptly and accurately.

Assist with nutrition and hydration needs, ensuring proper intake.

Respond effectively to emergency situations by following established protocols.

Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Competency & Professional Practice
-
Understand and operate within the legal scope of practice for a certified nursing assistant.

Maintain active CNA certification and AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Demonstrate continued clinical competency, including safe performance of technical skills and procedures for which you are trained.

Ensure care aligns with Legacy’s high standards and values in action.
Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:
-
Current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.

Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
