Job Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized individual to join our Cancer Services & Clinical Haematology team as a Clinical Administrator. This role involves working closely with medical and nursing staff to provide efficient administrative support. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team, develop your skills, and gain valuable experience in a rewarding healthcare setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Answering patient inquiries over the phone and providing efficient resolutions.

  • Keeping VR dictation updated for the clinical team to ensure timely delivery of clinic letters, referrals, and other correspondence.

  • Handling incoming and outgoing post for the clinical team.

  • Managing ad hoc appointments and clinic builds.

  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operation of the department.

  • Assisting with various administrative tasks as needed by the clinical team.

Person Specification:

Qualifications & Education:

  • Level 3 qualification in administration or equivalent relevant experience.

  • English qualification at Level 2 (GCSE Grades 9-4 or A*-C, or Functional/Key Skills at Level 2).

  • Maths qualification at Level 1 (GCSE Grades 3-2 or D-F, or Functional/Key Skills at Level 1).

Experience:

  • Experience in secretarial or administrative roles.

  • NHS administration or secretarial experience is desirable.

  • Familiarity with NHS systems such as eRecord, System One, and medical terminology is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Advanced keyboard and word processing skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage time and work independently.

  • Ability to accurately input, collate, and present data.

Additional Information:

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check, which will be paid for via salary deduction.

  • Interviews will be held on 9th May 2025.
