The hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, supported by on-demand imaging and lab services. WVMC is home to the Joint Replacement Institute, which holds advanced certification from The Joint Commission for Total Hip and Knee Replacement. About the Job
Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, the Clinical Supervisor oversees all back-office clinical functions and assumes leadership responsibilities in the Clinic Manager’s absence. This role ensures optimal staffing levels by coordinating medical assistant schedules, overseeing daily workflows, and ensuring staff are up to date with required annual training and competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct supervision and support for Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs)

Step in as CMA backup when needed to ensure smooth clinic operations

Provide triage coverage to support RN staff when necessary

Address patient concerns promptly and effectively

Scrub and validate provider schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality benchmarks

Monitor and respond to patient messages in the Athena system, including prescription refill requests, DME authorizations, and communications from external providers, within a four-hour timeframe

Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR and obtain STAT prior authorizations as required

Notify patients of approvals, changes, or follow-ups as needed

Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and ethical standards
