DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, build, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt, ensuring repeatable and reliable deployments on AWS.

• Kubernetes Management: Oversee Kubernetes workloads, with a focus on optimizing and maintaining clusters on Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).

• CI/CD Pipeline Development: Set up, manage, and improve continuous integration and delivery pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab CI to support agile development cycles.

• GitOps-Based Deployment: Implement and manage application deployments via ArgoCD, promoting a GitOps approach to continuous delivery.

• Monitoring and Logging: Establish robust monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks for both infrastructure and applications using industry-standard tools to ensure high availability and performance.

• Security and Compliance: Maintain infrastructure security in alignment with best practices and compliance standards; enforce policies and procedures that safeguard systems and data.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software development teams to understand infrastructure requirements and support the reliability, scalability, and performance of services.

• Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues related to systems, deployments, and environments in both staging and production, ensuring minimal downtime and swift recovery.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering role, with a proven track record in building and supporting cloud-native infrastructure.

• AWS Expertise: Strong, hands-on experience with core AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, and others.

• IaC Proficiency: Skilled in writing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.

• Kubernetes Mastery: Extensive experience with managing containerized applications and services on Kubernetes, particularly on EKS.

• CI/CD Tools: Practical experience using Jenkins and GitLab CI for setting up and maintaining automated build and deployment pipelines.

• Deployment Automation: Familiar with deploying and managing Kubernetes applications using ArgoCD in a GitOps framework.

• Version Control & Containerization: Strong grasp of Git workflows, Docker containerization, and Helm charts.

• Scripting Languages: Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go for automation and tooling.

• Networking & Monitoring: Solid understanding of network architectures, cloud security, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).

• Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio and observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.

• Experience with policy-as-code tools like Open Policy Agent (OPA) or HashiCorp Sentinel.
