Role Overview
As a Trainee Rural Civils Operative – Dorset, you will:

Support the operation of vibratory mole plough and directional drilling equipment.

Assist in the installation of fibre networks across various soil types and terrains.

Work closely with experienced team leaders and the larger Civil Engineering Department.

Ensure safe working practices and report any health and safety concerns.

Participate in regular maintenance checks of machinery.

Contribute to team cohesion and support the training of new team members.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
-
Full UK driving license.
-
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Desirable:
-
Experience in landscaping, farming, fencing, or operating agricultural machinery.

B&E trailer license.
-
CSCS certification.
-
Knowledge of street works or cable avoidance techniques.
Training and Development
Successful candidates will undergo a structured induction and probationary training plan. Working Hours

Monday: 7:00 AM – 5:00/6:00 PM

Tuesday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00/6:00 PM

Based on a 45-hour workweek, with additional hours at an agreed hourly rate.

Optional weekend work available at time and a half.
