Job Description

Dacorum Borough Council is hiring a Mobile Cleaner to join our Social Housing Cleaning team. This is a full-time, permanent role focused on maintaining building cleanliness and ensuring safety compliance. As a Mobile Cleaner, you will be responsible for traveling between sites, inspecting communal areas, and working with contractors to uphold cleanliness and safety standards across our housing stock. If you take pride in your work, are detail-oriented, and enjoy helping communities thrive, we want to hear from you. A full manual driving license and DBS check are required for this position.

Your Role as a Mobile Cleaner

As a Mobile Cleaner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining cleanliness in communal areas across social housing properties

  • Ensuring buildings remain safe and compliant with health and safety standards

  • Collaborating with contractors and enforcing safety policies, including clear landings

  • Monitoring cleaning work to ensure a high standard is maintained across all sites

  • Supporting other Housing Services teams to uphold community well-being

You will represent the Council’s zero-tolerance approach to hazards in shared spaces.

Mobile Cleaner: Skills, Compliance & Safety

To excel as a Mobile Cleaner, you’ll need:

  • The ability to manage cleaning projects and supervise contractor tasks

  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written

  • The ability to work independently while hitting performance targets

  • A diplomatic and tactful approach when resolving issues

  • A valid full manual UK driving license

  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check before employment
