Job Description

Oasis Academy Sholing is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and help deliver outstanding educational experiences for our learners. Your Role as a Teaching Assistant

In the Teaching Assistant role, you’ll work side-by-side with teaching staff to help students reach their full potential. You’ll support both individuals and groups of learners with their academic progress and personal development. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with lesson preparation, resource development, and classroom activities.

  • Providing individual and group support to students, including those with emotional or social challenges.

  • Offering pastoral support and fostering positive student behaviour.

  • Delivering interventions to support academic achievement and inclusion.

  • Supporting teachers with feedback and tracking student progress.

Job Overview & Requirements

Key Duties:

  • Help plan and deliver lessons.

  • Supervise and support students inside and outside the classroom.

  • Contribute to behaviour management and student well-being.

  • Assist in evaluating and reporting on student progress.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English and Maths.

  • Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting young people in educational settings.

  • Strong communication and organisation skills.

  • High expectations and a compassionate, respectful approach.
