Hartlepool Sixth Form, part of Education Partnership North East, is currently seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our on-campus catering team. As a Catering Assistant, you will help deliver high-quality food and customer service to both staff and students in a friendly and flexible environment. This part-time, term-time role (16 hours/week, 38 weeks/year) offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive college setting with excellent facilities and a strong reputation for student success. Catering Assistant Opportunities at Hartlepool Sixth Form
As a member of our catering team, you’ll contribute to maintaining high standards of food service across our college campus. We’re looking for experienced or enthusiastic Catering Assistant candidates who value great service and enjoy a busy, student-facing environment.
What We Expect from a Catering Assistant

Ability to prepare and serve both hot and cold food

Clean and maintain kitchen surfaces and equipment

Support with food deliveries, storage, and buffet preparations

Operate EPOS tills and handle cash responsibly

Provide excellent customer service to students and staff
Essential Skills for a Catering Assistant Role

Food preparation and basic cooking

Strong verbal communication and people skills

Previous catering or café experience preferred

Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and hygiene practices

Flexibility to support events and cover other sites when needed
