Senior Accountant – Starr Insurance Companies (New York)
Starr Insurance, a leading global insurance and investment organization, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, ideally within the commercial property and casualty insurance sector. CPA designation and Workday proficiency are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) ensuring GAAP compliance.
- Manage regulatory reporting and stay updated on requirements.
- Oversee general ledger, account reconciliations, and AP/AR processes.
- Assist in budget and forecast preparation.
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure internal control compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in insurance.
- Workday system proficiency preferred.
- Strong GAAP and regulatory reporting knowledge.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
