Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Ensuring the accurate and well-documented recording of all financial transactions, actively contributing to the smooth execution of audit processes.
  • Preparing insightful financial reports, statements, and records, including in-depth balance sheet and income statement analyses, as well as managing month-end and year-end accounting close procedures.
  • Developing informed financial projections to support strategic decision-making.
  • Thoroughly examining financial documents to guarantee adherence to established university policies, procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Calculating and forecasting the financial impact of proposed changes to operational programs or accounting practices.
  • Conducting comprehensive financial data compilation, querying, and in-depth analysis of substantial financial datasets.
  • Proficiently utilizing integrated financial systems and other record management systems to manage financial information effectively.
  • Contributing to the development of accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Assisting in the creation of reliable budget projections.
  • Analyzing and interpreting new and existing federal and state regulations relevant to your specific area of responsibility.
  • Employing integrated financial and record management systems to support student financial activities and ensure data accuracy.
  • Proactively identifying existing or potential financial discrepancies and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Providing initial troubleshooting support for financial system issues and participating in the design, installation, testing, and verification of financial system upgrades.
  • Analyzing account balances and performing reconciliations with external data sources, with a focus on resolving discrepancies related to student accounts receivable.
  • Identifying both current and potential problems and recommending proactive corrective or preventative measures.
  • Offering consultative services to campus administrators to facilitate the resolution of accounting-related challenges.
  • Recommending improvements to and assisting in the documentation and maintenance of efficient business processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Potentially providing training, guidance, and support to other team members.
  • Contributing to the ongoing documentation and maintenance of clear business processes, standards, and procedures.
  • At the discretion of the appropriate administrator, providing support to other areas or departments within the broader functional area as needed.
  • Potentially providing work direction to other professional and technical staff.
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the Financial Services department.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of industry standards through potential participation in additional training and/or certification programs as required by the department or campus
