NYC Health + Hospitals/Correctional Health Services (CHS), a leader in providing comprehensive and innovative care within the nation’s second-largest jail system, is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist. This role involves delivering high-quality, team-based psychiatric services, including psychopharmacologic management, to individuals incarcerated in New York City jails, contributing to a mental health service known for its extensive and unique treatment programs.
Key responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, developing collaborative, individualized treatment plans, managing medications, providing patient education and counseling, consulting with multidisciplinary teams (including medical, mental health, and security staff), and maintaining accurate documentation within the electronic health record. The ability to work effectively within a complex, team-oriented environment is crucial.
