Senior Payroll Coordinator
Our dynamic and growing company is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Coordinator to lead our payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Role Overview:
You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple states, ensuring timely and accurate compensation while adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves close collaboration with HR and Finance to streamline processes, maintain meticulous records, and support financial reporting through reconciliations and journal entries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute multi-state payroll processing, guaranteeing compliance and accuracy.
- Perform payroll accounting tasks, including account reconciliations and month-end journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state tax laws (withholding, unemployment, etc.).
- Maintain precise payroll records (benefits, deductions, garnishments).
- Partner with HR/Finance to optimize payroll processes and implement best practices.
- Assist with payroll audits, tax filings, compliance reporting, and system implementations/upgrades.
- Analyze payroll data to provide actionable insights for management.
Qualifications:
- Required: 5-8 years of combined payroll and accounting experience with multi-state payroll expertise. Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and accounting principles. Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Workday, Paycom, etc.) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent detail-orientation, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPP or FPC certification.
