Position Overview: California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM) seeks a dedicated Family Medicine Physician to provide high-quality patient care at a partner Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving an underserved community, coupled with the opportunity to teach CUSM medical students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive primary care services in a high-volume FQHC setting.
  • Supervise and collaborate with mid-level clinical staff (NPs/PAs).
  • Mentor and teach CUSM medical students (faculty rank commensurate with experience).
  • Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, policies (FQHC/CUSM), and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate patient care effectively with local hospitals and specialists.
  • Maintain thorough EHR documentation and participate actively in quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

  • MD/DO degree, Board Certification in Family Medicine.
  • Eligibility for a California medical license.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a medical education environment.
  • Strong commitment to CUSM’s mission, including diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
  • Eligibility for CUSM faculty appointment (Assistant/Associate Professor level).
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements (or have approved exemption).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within a university/academic medical setting.
  • Familiarity with program planning, project management, or LCME accreditation.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Expected base salary range: $200,000 – $250,000 annually (based on rank, scope, qualifications).
