Position Summary

As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In this leadership-support role, you will collaborate with the Pharmacy Manager to oversee daily pharmacy operations, drive performance, and foster a culture of excellence and empathy.

You will serve as a trusted healthcare provider and team leader—ensuring safe, accurate medication dispensing, promoting immunization services, guiding pharmacy technicians, and enhancing patient outcomes through clinical services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional patient care by ensuring accurate dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices

  • Serve as the acting lead pharmacist when the Pharmacy Manager is not present

  • Support pharmacy operations by following workflow procedures and safety protocols

  • Provide compassionate, personalized care by resolving medication and insurance issues and coordinating with patients’ broader healthcare teams

  • Promote and administer immunizations and coach pharmacy technicians to do the same

  • Contribute to inventory management, ensuring safe handling of all medications, especially cold chain products

  • Support pharmacy compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and CVS Health policies

  • Assist in writing and maintaining the pharmacy schedule when needed

  • Stay current with clinical and technical training, certifications, and continuing education

  • Deliver pharmacist-led clinical services, including testing and prescribing for flu, COVID-19, and contraception (where permitted by state law)

  • Maintain patient privacy, medication safety, and workplace inclusivity

  • Perform other related duties as directed by management


Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist License in the state of employment

  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)

  • Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties list

  • Ability to complete all required training within specified timelines

  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service environments

  • Flexibility to work at different locations across the region as needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Wage: $60.00 – $74.00 (based on experience, location, and other factors)
