Cannabis Dispensary Pharmacist – Pennsylvania

The Cannabis Dispensary Pharmacist plays a vital role in delivering safe, compliant, and patient-focused medical cannabis care under Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana Program. This position involves guiding patients through therapeutic cannabis use, verifying physician certifications, maintaining precise records, and ensuring compliance with all state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized consultations to educate patients on medical cannabis therapies and recommend suitable products based on medical needs and physician certifications.

Maintain secure and accurate patient records while upholding privacy and data protection standards.

Dispense medical cannabis in compliance with state laws and physician recommendations, ensuring correct dosage and usage.

Stay informed on evolving cannabis pharmacology research to support evidence-based patient care.

Collaborate with dispensary leadership and team members to enhance patient experience and support operational goals.

Ensure full compliance with Pennsylvania’s medical cannabis regulations, including the Prescription Monitoring Program.
Requirements:

Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist license in good standing.

Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting with a focus on customer/patient care.

Completion of any state-mandated cannabis education/training.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn cannabis pharmacology and its therapeutic effects.

Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Familiarity with relevant state, federal, and local laws and healthcare compliance.

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and engage respectfully with patients.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods, frequently walk, bend, lift up to 20 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Must possess full visual capabilities including close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
