Company Overview
Reporting to and working closely with the Manager of Accounting and Financial Reporting, this experienced accounting professional will perform a wide range of advanced accounting functions within the USNH Financial Operations Center. The role involves general ledger maintenance, financial analysis, journal preparation, and compliance reporting, supporting the integrity and efficiency of institutional financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform advanced accounting functions including ledger analysis, fund reconciliation, cost analysis, and inventory control.

Analyze complex financial data and produce management reports, financial statements, and ad hoc analyses.

Monitor revenues and expenses to ensure compliance with institutional policies and funding requirements.

Coordinate and prepare accurate billing, cost reports, and financial statements for various funding sources.

Collaborate with finance divisions to process journal vouchers and resolve financial discrepancies.

Manage financial data input, ensure accuracy in accounting records, and reconcile complex bank statements.

Support system-wide chart of accounts maintenance and coordinate corrections to budget and financial data.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to funds, budgets, and expenditures, often mentoring junior staff.

Assist in developing and maintaining internal accounting systems and controls.

Participate in audits and liaise with internal and external auditors.

Provide financial guidance and training to staff, faculty, vendors, and funding agencies.

Stay current on USNH accounting systems, standards, and policies.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education & Experience:

Associate degree in accounting or a related field

Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience

Strong understanding of accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles

Familiarity with automated financial systems and standard audit practices

High proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial data tools
