Position Summary:
As a GL Accountant II, you will be part of the General Ledger Team within a collaborative and high-performing Accounting and Finance department. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for performing general ledger accounting tasks, supporting period-end close procedures, assisting with audits, and contributing to various interdepartmental projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily and month-end journal entries, account reconciliations (monthly, quarterly, and annually), and support audit preparations.

Prepare and record accrual entries for unrecorded expenses (e.g., facilities and service fees).

Record and release contributions and pledges in compliance with GAAP, donor restrictions, and internal policies.

Coordinate with the Development team to validate and accurately report donor and pledge information.

Reconcile contribution-related general ledger activity with the donor database and pledges receivable monthly.

Assist with balance sheet reconciliations at least quarterly.

Review and process journal entries for reclassification requests.

Record interagency transactions with accuracy and timeliness.

Support annual audit and external monitoring processes.

Perform additional accounting duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
Experience:
-
3–4 years of general accounting experience (nonprofit experience is a plus)
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office applications

Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards
