Newcastle University invites applications for the role of BASIS Administrator within our dynamic IT Services team. As a BASIS Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our SAP systems, ensuring their reliability and security to support the university’s diverse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • SAP System Management: Oversee SAP technical infrastructure, including software upgrades, system installations, HANA database administration, and user authentication.

  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures, manage roles and authorizations, and collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance.

  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and review of processes to enhance system integrity, security, and resilience.

  • Documentation: Produce and maintain detailed system documentation.

  • Support and Troubleshooting: Provide expert support for SAP issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.

  • Project Involvement: Participate in projects and change activities, delivering solutions that align with the university’s IT strategy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in an SAP BASIS team within a similar organization; strong background in SAP technologies.

  • Cybersecurity Knowledge: Familiarity with cybersecurity processes and practices.

  • Collaborative Skills: Experience working with multiple support and resolver groups across various technologies.

  • Customer Focus: Demonstrated commitment to meeting customer needs and delivering high-quality services.
