About the Job
We are looking for a highly organized and quality-focused Production Pharmacist to join our pharmaceutical operations team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate, safe, and efficient preparation of medications in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will bring experience from long-term care, hospital, or compounding pharmacy settings and excel in a collaborative, process-driven workplace.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation, compounding, and packaging of medications according to prescriber orders and applicable regulatory guidelines.

Verify prescription accuracy, including dosage and labeling, for both bulk and patient-specific medications.

Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring workflows are efficient and compliant with quality standards.

Maintain strict adherence to regulatory requirements including USP, DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy laws, as well as internal quality assurance protocols.

Accurately document production activities including batch records, logs, and controlled substance tracking.

Collaborate with operations and quality assurance teams to improve processes and implement best practices.

Support audits, validation procedures, and inventory control efforts.

Promptly identify and report production variances or quality concerns.
Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.

Active pharmacist license in the state of employment.

At least 2 years of experience in a production pharmacy, hospital, long-term care, or compounding environment.

In-depth knowledge of sterile and non-sterile compounding practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Proficiency with pharmacy automation tools and production tracking systems.
