Job Summary
CHS in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Seasonal Hazmat Truck Driver to support our operations during the busy spring and fall seasons. This role involves transporting crop protection products to local farmers and ranchers, with the benefit of returning home daily. Candidates must possess a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain these credentials prior to employment. Expect extended working hours during peak seasons.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver products accurately and punctually to customers while maintaining safety, professionalism, and timeliness.

Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, secure load handling, and hours-of-service rules.

Support warehouse operations during downtime or when not on delivery routes.

Work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business needs.

Uphold and promote a strong safety culture by adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Proactively identify workplace hazards and take corrective action or seek assistance to resolve unsafe conditions.

Assist warehouse personnel and perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements, or willingness to obtain these prior to hire.

Must meet minimum age requirements.
Additional Qualifications

Must satisfy all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company requirements.

Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.

Availability to work additional hours and occasional weekends during busy periods.

Bulk liquid transportation experience is preferred.

Pre-employment screening may be required based on job needs and industry standards, which may include drug testing, criminal background checks, motor vehicle record review, physical exams, and FMCSA Clearinghouse verification.
