About the Job
The Controller’s Office is looking for qualified candidates for the position of Accountant I/II to support the County’s financial operations. Our mission is to ensure financial transparency and integrity while promoting operational efficiency. The Controller’s Office handles the County’s financial systems, records, and prepares audited annual financial reports. We also manage property tax calculations, audits, and payroll services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and correct accounting documents to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintain control and subsidiary accounting records.

  • Prepare and reconcile general ledger and bank statements.

  • Assist with budget preparation and analysis for departmental and County funds.

  • Provide technical support to auditors and coordinate internal audits.

  • Supervise or train staff as needed and assist in process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Accountant I: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; 12 units of college-level accounting coursework required. Relevant work experience can substitute for education.

  • Accountant II: Two years of accounting experience, preferably in a governmental setting.
