Position Overview:
The Medical/Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role as a member of the patient care team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and the direction of the Unit Director. This position involves delivering high-quality nursing care within the scope of practice, contributing to the overall well-being and recovery of patients on the unit.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the collection and assessment of patient data to support informed care decisions.

Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and prioritize patient and family-centered care plans, adjusting strategies as necessary.

Carry out physician and nursing orders relevant to the patient/family care plan, ensuring actions remain within the LPN’s scope of practice.

Accurately document nursing interventions, patient responses, and any changes in condition to maintain seamless communication among care team members.

Adhere strictly to established procedures, regulatory requirements, and policies for maintaining and protecting patient medical records.

Provide direct hands-on patient care, including administering medications and treatments, while closely monitoring and documenting patient reactions.

Continuously evaluate and report on patient progress toward established health outcomes.

Deliver nursing care tailored to the specific needs of the patient population served on the unit, in accordance with administrative guidelines and scope of services policies.
Qualifications:

Successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.

New graduates are encouraged to apply.

IV certification is strongly preferred to enhance clinical capabilities.

Must hold or be eligible to obtain an active LPN license to practice in the state of Kansas.
