About the Role

Heron Foods is seeking an experienced and CIPD-qualified People Manager to join our People Team, supporting the Warehouse and Transport functions at our Store Support Centre in Melton, near North Ferriby. This key HR Business Partner role offers the opportunity to work strategically and hands-on within a fast-paced operational environment, driving employee relations, performance, and development for critical parts of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted HR advisor to senior managers within Warehouse and Transport, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, succession planning, and resourcing.

  • Lead complex HR casework including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability issues.

  • Collaborate with Training Manager to design and deliver tailored training and mentoring programmes.

  • Support and coach line managers on daily HR processes and performance management.

  • Participate in key departmental meetings offering valuable HR insight and support recruitment and talent development initiatives.

  • Ensure all HR activities are compliant with employment law and best practice.

  • Produce and maintain regular HR reports to enable data-driven decision-making.

Candidate Requirements

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or higher.

  • Proven generalist HR experience, preferably in warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing environments.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and handling complex employee relations cases.

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in HR reporting.

  • Hands-on, proactive approach with ability to influence at all organisational levels.
